This years festival will be held in Bicentennial Park on Saturday, August 15th from 4:30-10:30.

We will be finishing up the details for our Greenwood Vigil on Saturday 8/29 and assigning jobs for the Sunday Vigil in Madison.
Plans will be made for the fall actions that will focus on GOTV. The Registration Deadline to vote is October 5th and early voting begins on the 6th. There are several early voting actions we will be voting on the one that best serves our group.
We also have the GOTV postcards from the Hoosier Hospitality March we had printed. We will be passing those out to anyone who is interested in canvassing with them.
Anyone with Democracy Defender training will be asked to sign up for poll watching.

We spend a lot of time working with each other, towards the same goals, but how often do we really get to connect on a deeper, more personal level?
The Resistance is monumentally important but SO is connection, fellowship, friendship and self-care. These things stem the tide of burn-out. This task is a marathon, not a sprint and we need to treat it as such!
At South INDY-visible, we want to create an atmosphere that encourages care for others and ourselves. We cannot fight if the tank is empty.
We are united in fighting in the resistance but we are also united as human beings. We want to facilitate an environment that will cultivate our relationships.

The Dream and Promise Act is a critical piece of this solution. It creates an actual pathway to citizenship for Dreamers who came to the country as children, people with Temporary Protected Status (TPS), &other long-term residents who have become integral members of our communities. It stops President Trump from using legal status as a weapon and mass deporting our neighbors on a whim.

Protest Signals Growing Disapproval of Trump Rule, Policies
Greenwood, Indiana – They may not agree on all of the issues gripping our nation, but they shared a common and resounding voice: “America has no kings!...This is what democracy looks like!”

The protest follows a bill's passage at the Indiana Statehouse to increase cooperation between local police and federal immigration enforcement.
We are a South Indy-visible, a group dedicated to uniting our district to resist the authoritarian excesses manifested by our state & federal administrations. We will accomplish this by raising community awareness, organizing peaceful public protests, & collaborating to elect representatives who share our humane values & interests. We remain as ever, Rooted in Justice, Resisting in Peace.
